A writer friend shared with our group a NYT article about the failures and successes of a writers life. The article is also relevant to other fields. On the offset seems pessimistic, arguing that a write will mostly experience rejections and failures with occasional and and momentary successes. But the overall message is a reconciliation with failure that’s antithetical to motivational videos we come across on social media where they make certain that after a long period of failure there comes an abundance life of riches. In reality, nothing is promised to us, and all we have control over is the process.
